Dr. Toby Cosgrove of Cleveland Clinic Joins RxRevu Board

June 15, 2018 (Denver, CO) — RxRevu, the industry leader in Prescription Decision Support, is proud to announce that Dr. Toby M. Cosgrove has joined their Board of Directors.

Dr. Cosgrove joined Cleveland Clinic in 1975 and served as president and CEO from 2004 through 2017. He led initiatives to improve clinical outcomes, increase patient satisfaction, and created and implemented policies to drive quality improvement, a better patient experience, and improved accountability across the organization. Under Dr. Cosgrove’s leadership, Cleveland Clinic’s heart program was ranked No. 1 in America for 10 years in a row by U.S. News & World Report. Dr. Cosgrove was named as the 14th Fortune Businessperson of the Year (2016), as well as Modern Healthcare’s “100 Most Powerful People in Healthcare” among many other honors.

Dr. Cosgrove is well-known in the medical community for coining the phrase “Patients First”, part of his impetus for joining the RxRevu Board, which provides a platform to improve the clinician and patient experience around prescribing medication.  The RxRevu platform, SwiftRx™, greatly simplifies the prescribing process by combining clinical decision support and individual patient cost transparency at the point of care.

“Like many things in healthcare, prescribing medicine has become very complex. Decision support tools like SwiftRx will enable providers to incorporate national guidelines and patient cost into a seamless workflow that systemizes prescribing. SwiftRx is one of the essential solutions health systems will need as they move into value-based care, improve quality and lower costs for their patients, as well as help to prevent provider burnout.  This is the future of medicine”, said Dr. Cosgrove.

“Our goal is to equip every provider with a tool that guarantees the right medication is prescribed to the right patient at the right cost. Dr. Cosgrove is a visionary clinical leader and his unique perspective will help us to better collaborate and partner with health systems”, said Carm Huntress, co-founder and CEO of RxRevu.

Dr. Cosgrove joins a board of seasoned healthcare innovators chaired by Stephen McHale, the co-founder and CEO of Explorys, sold to IBM in 2015.
